Not everyone you manage appointments for needs to be able to sign in to MeetOne. The login status decides whether a person can, and you change it right in the patient record.

## Prerequisites

- You are allowed to edit the person's data. That applies to practitioners and medical assistants.
- The patient record is enabled for your account (depending on your organization's configuration).

## What the login status means

The **Login** card shows a status that tells you whether the person can sign in:

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Login enabled** | The person can sign in with their email address. They receive the sign-in link by email. |
| **No login** | The person cannot sign in. |

The status does not change the fact that the person is managed in MeetOne. Even without a login they appear in lists, contacts and appointments, and you can plan appointments for them.

> **Note**
>
> A person with the status **No login** still receives all emails about their appointments, including the link to the video appointment. They just cannot sign in to MeetOne.

## How to see the status

1. Open the person's patient record from the **Patients** item in the sidebar.
2. Select the **Master data** section.
3. The **Login** card shows the current status. In the person overview, the same card is on the **Profile** tab.

## How to enable the login

1. Click **Enable login** on the **Login** card.
2. The dialog tells you that the person can then sign in with a sign-in link sent to the email address on file.
3. Leave **Send the invitation with the sign-in link** ticked if the person should receive the invitation right away. Untick it if you would rather let the person know yourself.
4. Click **Enable**.

The status changes to **Login enabled**. Without an invitation, the person signs in themselves with their email address on the [sign-in page](https://app.meetone.io/sign-in).

## How to disable the login

1. Click **Disable login** on the **Login** card.
2. Confirm the prompt.

The person is signed out everywhere at once and can no longer sign in. The status changes to **No login**. Their appointments stay in place, and they still receive the emails about them.

## People created through an integration

If your organization connects MeetOne to another system, participants can be created there or booked into an appointment. They start with the status **No login** until the integration explicitly enables the login or you enable it as described above. Their appointments and the emails about them work all the same.

Technical details for your IT team or integration partner are in the developer documentation: [Users endpoints](https://help.meetone.io/developers/scheduling-api/users-endpoints).

## Common problems

- **I don't see a button to enable or disable the login.** You may be missing the permission to edit the person's data. Contact your organization administrator.
- **The person doesn't receive a sign-in link.** Check that the status is **Login enabled** and that the email address is correct. For more help, see [MeetOne emails not arriving](https://help.meetone.io/en/troubleshooting/emails-not-arriving).
- **The person can't sign in.** If the **Login** card shows **No login**, enable the login as described above. Otherwise [I can't log in](https://help.meetone.io/en/troubleshooting/cannot-log-in) can help.
