MeetOne can remind you shortly before an upcoming appointment with a desktop notification. If notifications aren't showing up, it's usually down to notification settings in your browser or operating system.
Prerequisites
Desktop notifications are available if this feature is enabled for your organization, and only for participant and professional accounts.
How desktop notifications work
- A notification appears shortly before a confirmed appointment (usually a few minutes before, depending on your organization's configuration).
- For this to work, MeetOne must stay open in a browser tab.
- Each appointment notification only appears once per browser.
Enabling notifications
- Open Settings from the main menu.
- In the Notifications section, turn on the Desktop notifications switch.
- Allow the permission when your browser asks.
If you've dismissed or denied your browser's permission prompt once, it won't reappear there for 30 days. You can still grant the permission at any time directly in your browser's site settings (see below).
Checking permission in your browser
- Chrome: Click the lock/tune icon in the address bar → Site settings → Notifications → Allow.
- Safari: Safari → Settings → Websites → Notifications → find the MeetOne address → Allow.
- Firefox: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Permissions → Notifications → Allow.
Checking notifications at the operating system level
Even if your browser shows the permission as "granted", notifications must also be allowed at the operating system level:
- macOS: System Settings → Notifications → find your browser → enable.
- Windows: Settings → System → Notifications → find your browser → enable.
Also check whether a Focus or Do Not Disturb mode is active, suppressing notifications system-wide.
Safari doesn't show icons in notifications and automatically dismisses them after a few seconds. This is a Safari limitation — Chrome and Firefox show notifications until you dismiss them.
