During a video appointment you can share your screen with the participant, for example to look at findings or documents together.
Prerequisites
- A current desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). Screen sharing is not available on iPhone or iPad.
- Enable screen sharing must be switched on for the appointment – this is the case by default when the appointment is created.
How to share your screen
- During the call, click the Share screen icon.
- In your browser's picker window, choose whether to share your entire screen, a window or a tab, and confirm.
- Your share starts as soon as the picker closes. The participant now sees your shared screen instead of your camera view.
- Click the icon again to stop sharing.
While sharing, avoid switching browser tabs and keep the MeetOne window in the foreground – some browsers slow down screen sharing in background tabs.
macOS permission
If you use a Mac, your browser needs a separate system permission for screen recording:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording.
- Enable your browser there (e.g. Chrome, Edge or Safari).
- Restart your browser if you just granted the permission.
Without this permission, you still see your own screen as usual, but the participant sees a black screen. Grant the permission and start sharing again.
Common issues
- The participant sees a black or frozen screen. On macOS, check your browser's screen recording permission and start sharing again. Detailed help: Screen share frozen or black.
- Sharing freezes after a network change. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data while sharing can end the share. Stop sharing and start it again.
- Screen sharing won't start. Check that you're using a supported device – screen sharing isn't available on iPhone or iPad.
