Here are quick answers to the most common technical and privacy questions about MeetOne.
Which browsers and devices are supported?
MeetOne runs on up-to-date versions of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari and Mozilla Firefox — on computer, tablet and smartphone. See Supported browsers and devices for details, or check your own device in advance with the System check.
Do I need to install anything?
No. MeetOne runs entirely in the browser, with no extra software or app required. See Join a video call for more.
Why does my browser ask for camera and microphone access?
This prompt is a security feature of your browser that prevents websites from accessing your camera and microphone without your consent. To join the video appointment, confirm the permission once in your browser.
Is the video appointment recorded?
MeetOne does not record video appointments or store them on its servers by default; video and audio are transmitted directly between you and your organization during the appointment. Depending on configuration, an optional audio recording feature may be enabled for individual organizations – the best way to find out is to ask your organization directly.
Is the connection encrypted?
Yes. Several protocols secure your connection: communication with the signaling server uses TLS encryption, the SRTP protocol secures video and audio transmission, and DTLS protects additional data transfers. For more background, see Privacy & Security.
What happens to my data after the call? Can I have it deleted?
Your data stays in your MeetOne account until you choose to delete it. You can delete your account and its associated data yourself at any time in your account settings – see Delete my data. Legally required retention periods for medical data are not affected by this.
What internet speed do I need?
For a stable video appointment, we recommend at least 1 Mbit/s upload and download. For higher video quality, such as HD, 5 Mbit/s or more in both directions is ideal. A wired connection or stable Wi-Fi is preferable. See Supported browsers and devices for details.
Does it work over VPN or on corporate networks?
In most cases, yes. MeetOne establishes a direct, encrypted connection between you and your organization whenever possible; if that is not possible, an encrypted relay server is used. Very restrictive firewalls or VPNs can still interfere with the connection. If that happens, ask your IT department to allow WebRTC traffic (UDP/ICE/STUN/TURN).
